Rule of Thirds

The rule of thirds is applied by aligning a subject with the guide lines and their intersection points, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line, or allowing linear features in the image to flow from section to section.

1. School Day/About Me
2. Others/Attention/Funny

Pick to document either someone else or something you want to bring attention to...

- Someone else. This should be someone where you want to learn their story. Not your best friend or someone in this class. Instead, a loved one, maybe someone you haven't seen in a while, or someone you know but don't really know. Think about your parents and when they were young. Your grandparents and who they were before you were around. Maybe it's a teacher or coach or youth leader.

- Attention. This might not be a specific person but rather a cause you want to bring attention to. Can you tell a story of injustice with objects you find? Can you bring attention to a cause where your photo makes people think, respond, and even act?

- Funny. How clever can you be with your items? Maybe it's organizing something that it usually a mess. Or taking something that is always organized or contained and showing it in a new way- example: fast food fries or cereal.

SD Cards

One thing that will be helpful this semester is purchasing a SD Card. Often times you can find them for less than $10 and students in the past have expressed how it is well worth them investment!

We would recommend purchasing a 16GB card (8GB will work as well) that is a Class 10.
