3 More Exercises
1) Exercise 1: Shoot through...
Shooting through translucent glass, water, or even a car window on a
rainy day can result in distortions and light diffractions that will
create unusual but visually interesting images. Don’t hesitate to
experiment with other kinds of things you can shoot through. You can
then find out how they can affect your image.
2) Exercise 2: Movement and motion
Move the camera as you shoot, throw the object, have someone run past...
3) Exercise 3: Less is more

Abstraction Collage and Combination
Collage and Combination
- Hey all! We've taken A LOT of pictures this semester. Here is a chance to create some artwork with a nice finished quality that combines those pictures along with the many editing techniques we have learned.
- Create combinations of multiple layers and rows (2x5 in the above example).
- Consider some color photos, some black and white, and some black and white with high lighted color.
- How do the images "play" off each other? Each image should look good on it's own, but also compliment the images around it.
- Cropping, placement, and editing will be important in being successful!
Use photoshop to create a canvas to copy and paste your images into. When going to File >New, I would pick a strong directional size (wide or tall) to work on:
Then make sure your "Rulers" are turned on:
From here, click and drag from the ruler space to create some "guides". This will help you organize your layout:
Now is the time to copy and paste your photos in! Remember to consider some color photos, some black and white, and some black and white with high lighted color. How do the images "play" off each other? Each image should look good on it's own, but also compliment the images around it.
